It’s the life for me
I used to think roughing it
and camping went hand in hand. That you had to
travel light. But these days I know better. Unless
you’re carrying your camping gear on your
back, there’s no need to leave any of the
comforts of home behind.
My husband Dan, our then
nine-year-old daughter Georgia and I went camping
for the first time two years ago. We arrived at the
campground in our Mazda Metro and Toyota sedan,
which were loaded to bursting because I only agreed
to go if we could camp in comfort. We had arranged
to meet our friends Penny and Sean and their two
boys Conor, 11, and Jack, 15, who were also new to
camping. Embarrassingly, the four of them arrived
in one sedan with all their gear packed neatly in
the boot.
